West End London – Top Restaurants

Father and son Albert Roux and Michel Roux Jr will today open their first restaurant collaboration for 19 years at the Langham Hotel in London.

The duo, who have not worked together since Albert handed the reigns of Le Gavroche over to Michel in 1991, have taken over the Landau restaurant space at the luxury West End hotel, re-naming it Roux at The Landau.

Chris King, who was formerly sous chef at Roux at Parliament Square, will lead the Landau kitchen as chef de cuisine, producing a classically French menu with some British dishes.

Michel said: “Chris King is a rising star, and his menus reflect the Roux trademark style of classically-constructed French dishes, blended with today’s tastes for lighter choices. He has a modern approach to combining ingredients, and a contemporary style of presentation.”

The restaurant itself will be overseen by restaurant manager Franco Becci and head sommelier Zach Saghir, both of whom have been with the Landau for the past three years.
